Medlar team to open rooftop restaurant Cornus at Eccleston Yards' Ice Factory

17/5/24 - updated with details of the chef

Fifteen years might be a long time between new restaurant concepts, but the team behind Medlar in Chelsea are finally ready to impress London with their next endeavour. It’s called Cornus and is opening atop the Ice Factory in Belgravia, an area surprisingly bereft of rooftop spaces.

If you’re not across the Ice Factory just yet, it’s a recently refurbished warehouse located in Eccleston Yards, a wellness and workspace hub that we tipped you off about a few years back. It joins a few other brands in the courtyard, such as Wild by Tart, Barry’s Bootcamp and Re:Mind.

They've also revealed who their Executive Head Chef, as they've brought in Gary Foulkes to lead things at the new restaurant. He's had a career that's included starting under Gary Rhodes and working with Philip Howard at The Square. But he's probably best known more recently as the man in the kitchen at Angler, who took that restaurant to its first Michelin star. So the kitchen at Cornus is going to have some talent in it, as well as someone who knows a thing or two about rooftop restaurants.

We'll add more news about what's actually on Gary's menu as we get it.

More about Cornus

Where is it? 27 Eccleston Pl, London SW1W 9NF

When does it open? July 2024
