Updated with the opening date and soft launch
If you’re looking to go somewhere particularly fancy, or if you have a penchant for fine caviar, do step this way. It’s our duty to inform you that Mayfair (where else?) is getting a rather luxurious seafood restaurant in the new Medici Courtyard development – built as part of London’s Crossrail project – near Hanover Square.
Called The Caviar Bar, it’s obviously the place for fish-egg delicacies, but will also serve sushi, oysters, and other assorted small plates as well as seafood platters. If there are delays on the Elizabeth Line you can also mentally bookmark it as an intimate space to escape and relax over a glass of wine or Champagne, as it leads directly to the tube line.
If you’re just passing through, they tell us it’s also the place to pick up a special gift for the gourmet in your life, with a retail section as part of the mezzanine space.
Either way, it sounds like a suitable addition to other restaurants that have sprung up as part of the Hanover Square revitalisation, such as Maine.
