Casa do Frango pick Victoria as the next home for their Piri-Piri chicken

Casa do Frango Victoria is the latest home for their Piri Piri chicken

They've had great success with their Piri-Piri chicken around London and now Casa do Frango are getting ready to open their next big restaurant, this time in Victoria (taking over the space left by Jason Atherton's Hai Cenato).

As you might expect, the menu will be primarily all about the Frango Piri-Piri chicken, the heart of the menu which takes its inspiration from co-founder Marco Mendes’ own Algarve heritage. Expect plenty of chickens to be grilled over the fire here.

But there's lots more to it than that - Iberico pork croquettes, bacalhau fritters, grilled chorizo and Piri-Piri garlic prawns will all be making an appearance as well as some brand-new dishes. Those will include crispy fried green beans with Piri-Piri mayo and a new baby gem salad with chargrilled peppers and sweet white onion. As for dessert, they'll be making their Pastéis de Nata fresh daily.

Drinks-wise, the wine list is solely Portuguese and will now include their own wine - Boa Pinga, which is a Vinho Verde from Monção, created by Quinta de Santiago.

The Victoria opening is going to be a big old space - there will be room for 260 diners, including on the terrace. It'll look familiar if you've visited their previous restaurants - lots of foliage, Portuguese tiling and lots of wrought iron.

And it's by far from the last Casa do Frango - as they've recently had a successful crowdfunding to help them expand. So you can expect some more casas in the future.
