Peckham folk really do have one of London's best rooftop scenes. They already have their pick of ForzaWine, The Bussey Building and Frank's. And later this summer there's going to be another big rooftop place hitting the area - Skylight Peckham.
Run by the same team who brought us Skylight Tobacco Dock, Skylight Peckham will take over the rooftop space of the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. The all day space aims to be as much as a handy work space for freelancers during the day as it does a buzzy cocktail spot by night.
It's big too - with room for 250 people in the inside restaurant and bar and a large wraparound terrace.
For food, while the weekend brunch is bound to be super popular, you can also pop in for small plates and sharing dishes with friends. Here's an idea of what sort of dishes will be on the menu there:
- Burrata, Tropea Onions, Smoked Aubergine & Pepper, Toasted Sourdough, N’duja
- Roast Beef on Sourdough Toast, Marmite Mayo, Pickled & Crispy Shallots, Watercress & Horseradish
- Roasted Courgettes, Fine Beans, Straciatella, Basil & Mint, Chilli Oil
- Roasted Poussin, Chicken Fat Mash, Truffle & Honey Vinaigrette, Charred Leeks
Cocktails will be a big thing - so you'd better look out for the opening date when you can enjoy a South London Iced Tea - their twist on the Long Island classic with Hennessy and cranberry juice.
