Although most of the current buzz around everyone's favourite Indian cafe, Dishoom, has recently been around their expansion to New York, they're also extending their London estate. Work is well underway for a new Dishoom at London Bridge, just around the corner from Borough Market.

The restaurant group are opening a restaurant at The Hop Exchange. They're not taking over an existing restaurant space, but creating a brand new one in the building's West Wing. It would be a pretty big Dishoom too, covering two floors

We're still waiting for the opening date for the new Dishoom close to Borough Market, but now it turns out they already have another opening lined up, and it's not too far away.

First reported by hospitality website Caterer, they're taking over what was once a Las Iguanas restaurant in Royal Festival Hall. That's the corner section facing the river and also has a pretty extensive terrace, so it's certainly one of the prime sites in the area. The reason the news is breaking now is because they're planning a big overhaul to that terrace, most importantly adding a retractable roof.

Dishoom already has seven restaurants in London, but for the eighth, they're going in a (slightly) different direction. Outside of town, they've opened three Permit Rooms, which are essentially offshoots of the main Dishoom, billed instead as all-day bars and cafes, and now they're bringing one of those to Notting Hill.
