Hide & Seed bar and restaurant to open at The Lodge Hotel in Putney

hideandseedlogoIt's all go in Putney. Yesterday we reported on Bibo - a new Italian restaurant opening on Upper Richmond Road. And today we have news of another restaurant opening on the same road. Hide & Seed launches in March at The Lodge Hotel. Head Chef Ricardo Soares will use his own Portuguese influences in cooking produce closer to home, with vegetables grown on the hotel's own farm.

The intention will be to give as much attention to vegetables and plants as to meat and fish. So from the menu you can expect:

  • Crispy pig - 22 hour cooked pig’s head with smoked pepper jam, crispy pigs ear and pea (£8.50)
  • Fish, Bread And Coffee - Langoustine, coffee poached brill, bread broth and coriander (£11)
  • "Allotment Vegetables” Textures of allotment grown vegetables, zaatar spice, crispy potato (£12.50)
  • Cabrito Goat – Carrot, rosemary potatoes, sprout tops (£16.50)

With room for 30, the restaurant will be split into two rooms - a dining room seating 12 and a lounge area with large tables.

As for drinks they're intending to offer "garden fresh cocktails" using fresh berries, herbs, flowers and quality spirits. And as well as wine, there'll also be local craft beers and Meantime on draught.

Hide & Seed opens Friday 28th March at 52-54 Upper Richmond Road, London SW15 2RN. Telephone 020 8874 1598. Opening hours will be Monday–Saturday 6pm – 11pm (restaurant) and 4pm – 12pm (bar). For more information follow them on Twitter @hideandseed
