We always make time for a Max Halley reel on Instagram, and yesterday the ebullient owner of Max's Sandwich Shop revealed that he's got a sausage venture on the way.
"I have managed to secure a regular supply of my dear friend Owen Barratt's extraordinary sausages," Max explained. "So every Wednesday from now on, from midday until 3pm, this will not just be Max's Sandwich Shop, this will be Max's Owen Barratt Hotdog Cider Mustard, raw onion, guindilla and malted milkshake.com."
The hot dogs will come with a Gwatkin's cider mustard they'll make in-house, and drinks for the Wednesday hotdog spot will include a plain malted milkshake and a malted chocolate shake.
If you haven't heard of Owen Barratt before, you might know him better as the former chef and co-owner of Monty's Deli, which was a big thing in London for its Reuben sandwiches pre-Covid. Since then he's been doing his best to bring a bit of Nordic/Germanic sausage culture to the UK at his sausage shop in Frome, Somerset over the past couple of years.
Owen and Max have been running sausage parties down in the West Country for a while now, so coming together for this new London venture was only a matter of time. And a side note, this isn't to be confused with @maxssandwichdogs which is Max's Insta account devoted to lovely dogs that come into the Sandwich Shop.
