It's been five years since Lewisham's Model Market shut down, but now it's about to return, this time run by German Kraft Brewery.
The new version of Model Market is coming back as part of the revamp to the Lewisham Shopping Centre. So while it's in the same space, it's going to look quite different to what came before, as the site has had a complete overhaul (although they are promising many nods to the original 1950s design).
Exactly who will be serving up food at the new Model Market is still to be revealed, but you can expect a few food and drink spaces to find a home in the all-day market and they're also planning a new wellness space on the roof. There will, of course, be a German Kraft taproom on site. You can also look out for "live DJ sets, diverse music, pop-ups, events, and cultural programming".
German Kraft started life at Mercato Metropolitano in Elephant and Castle, and as that enters its final months, it looks like a good opportunity for them to run their own space.
