Over the bank holiday weekend, Brixton became the first place in the UK to get a brand new PizzaExpress that looks more like a fast food joint than a pizzeria. Putting the express into PizzaExpress this latest branch looks nothing like the restaurants of old, with self-ordering machines at the front and with the option to order in, grab and go or even book a delivery.
The Brixton store is the first in a rollout of new small PizzaExpresses. A press release also mentioned that Finsbury Park and Earls Court would be next in line, and we already have intel on where the Finsbury Park one will be. It'll be behind Finsbury Park Station on the corner of Wells Terrace and Fonthill Road, where the old Creams was.
"Come and check us out!" said the chain's CEO Paula, adding that they'll be partnering with the Brixton Soup Kitchen to give away nearly 800 pizzas a year.
