Set firmly in the Mayfair triangle, new Turkish opening Chargal is hoping to woo Londoners in with three storeys of mezze, refined Turkish dining and a late-night club in the basement. It's taken over the spot vacated by Jeru on Berkeley Street and comes from restaurateur Serdar Demir, who's also behind The Mantl in Knightsbridge.
Here at Chagal, he's hoping that whether you're after a more casual meal, fine dining or an after-dinner drink, you'll find it here. On the ground floor, there will be more of a casual vibe with mezze the main focus. Up on the first floor, it's more of a tablecloths and formal meal affair. Wherever you're eating though, it's all about the live fire cooking over oak-charcoal flames. That'll be applied to everything from the grilled halloumi doughnuts to the wagyu iskender.
Finally, guests can extend the evening by heading down to Chargal's basement club for a late-night drink or dance.
This is a big opening in a prime Mayfair site so it's definitely one to watch out for.
