One of Barcelona's top wine bars is coming to London, for two months only. Bar Brutal is known for its inventive small plates and natural wine list (we visited it ourselves a few years back) and it's coming over here to pop up at Seabird.
As part of the pop-up, they're creating eight new dishes for the menu, described as "coastal classics with a Brutal twist". Exactly what those are going to be is being kept a little quiet, but we're told to expect things like "fresh seafood dishes, alluring cuts of Ibérico, crisp autumnal veg and playful, indulgent desserts." As for wines, they'll be showcasing three in particular - a white, (Celler Pardas – Rupestris 2023), a red (Terroir al Límit – Historic 2022) and an orange (Escoda Sanuhuja – Bassotets 2022).
These collabs and pop-ups often happen thanks to the help of a sponsor, and this time it's Monkey Shoulder, who are creating three cocktails for the menu, including a Stout Old Fashioned (Monkey Shoulder, stout cordial, orange, coffee).
As part of the pop-up, there will be a bit of an overhaul to the look of Seabird, with an added red neon glow, wax-dripped wine bottles and a fair bit of Bar Brutal merch. So if you haven't had the chance to check them out in Barcelona, put this one in the diary.
