20/10/25 - updated with a name and more details
In recent months, there had been a flurry of activity on the riverbank at Richmond where the old Pitcher & Piano used to be. It's a huge site, with gardens leading down to the river. So naturally locals were wondering what's opening there next.
We reported back in August, that the folks behind Gold in Notting Hill were involved in the site, and now we've finally had confirmation. The new restaurant will be called Tower House. It's being billed as a new Mediterranean riverside restaurant and bar.
The Executive chef of Gold will be in charge of the menu here too. All we know about the menu so far is that it will include chargrilled vegetables, hand-rolled parcels of pasta and wood-roasted whole turbot. We'll get more details about that menu closer to the opening date.
Planning permission has been given for the addition of a conservatory, which will do good business in the colder months, while the restaurant will take over the ground and lower ground floors of the building. There's also going to be an extensive riverside garden that will clearly do very well in the warmer months. The design of Gold in Notting Hill is pretty impressive, with foliage everywhere, and it looks like they'll be taking the same approach here.
