Luke Moody and Layla Morris win a Brixton Market residency with their Durban Curry House

Luke Moody and Layla Morris win a Brixton Market residency with their Durban Curry House

It was the competition that helped launch Adejoké Bakare's Chishuru, which became one of London's best restaurants, and now Brixton Village has announced the winners of its 2025 incubator competition.

The prize this year goes to chefs Luke Moody and Layla Morris's Durban Curry House, with food that's a take on the Indian-inspired cuisine of Durban, South Africa. They'll now get a six-month residency on Market Row. Dishes served at the competition included Cheese and Corn Samosas, Crab Curry, and Lamb Bunny Chow, so you can expect these to make an appearance at the residency. The chefs have been cooking previously at Fallow, but this will be their first time going it alone.

As they say "It’s a real privilege to be recognised by some of the industry’s most respected names and to have the opportunity to run our residency in such an iconic and vibrant market like Brixton Village. We can’t wait to open our doors and share not only our food, but story with the South London community and beyond. This opportunity is the next chapter of our career and we couldn’t be happier."

We'll update with news of the residency itself as soon as we get it.
