As far as we're concerned, there's always room for more places to sit and recover from a massive shopping expedition when you're on Oxford Street. So the arrival of Noreen to St Christopher's Place this summer can only be a positive thing.
Although there are plenty of Middle-Eastern restaurants to choose from in this part of town, the owners are hoping that they have a couple of features to make them stand out from the crowd. First up is chef Mehdi Hani who's been a head chef at Harrods for the past four years. He's planning a menu that makes the most of his tanoour oven and Minqala grill. So think fresh flatbreads, grilled meats and slow-cooked dishes.
We were particularly interested to hear that they've collaborated with Ryan Chetiyawardana's Mr Lyan Studio over the cocktails and mocktails. Arak will be a key spirit in the drinks list, with other drinks using ingredients like hibiscus, za’atar, black lime and tahini. "We’ve always loved introducing guests to new flavours and doing so regardless of whether they are in an alcoholic or non-alcoholic form," says Ryan.
The wine list will have a strong showing of Lebanese, Turkish and Eastern Mediterranean wines and there'll be a small terrace too, for sunny days.
