December might not seem like the most obvious time to launch an ice cream shop, but that's exactly what the team behind Goodbye Horses are doing. We knew at the time they originally opened the restaurant back in July that an ice cream shop was to come. However, the plan was originally to open in August which, let's be honest, is more of an ice-creamy month. Still, several months later, The Dreamery is here.
The ice cream will come from their chef Jack Coggins who has already impressed us with his cooking in the restaurant. Apparently, the aim is to "balance innovative flavours with comforting classics". To start with, flavours will include the very seasonal Christmas Pudding and Gingerbread as well as Mint Chocolate Chip, Croissant and Custard. And they'll even be pairing wines with the new ice cream.
As for the location, it's actually just across the road from Goodby Horses, in a repurposed 19th-century building which can fit in around 20 people. The design of the restaurant was beautiful, so we're expecting big things of this place too. And given how successful Goodbye Horses has been, if anyone can pull off launching an ice cream parlour in December, it's this lot.
