Somewhat out of nowhere, a brand new STK steakhouse has arrived in London. It's the latest opening that's part of The Gantry Hotel in Stratford, which already has Hermano coffee bar, Union Social, Coupe Bar and a roof terrace on the way soon.
As for what to expect from STK Stratford - it's a similar vibe to their restaurants on the Strand and in Westminster - part steakhouse, part party venue with late-night DJs at the weekends.
The food, as you might imagine, centres around their steaks, with New York Strip, flat Iron, sirloin and ribeye sitting alongside Japanese wagyu cuts and a roasted lobster tail if you want a little surf with that turf.
It's not all steak, though - there's a raw bar (with a shellfish platter) and other dishes like:
- Braised Beef Short Rib - creamed potatoes - roasted pepper relish - crispy shallots - red wine glaze
- Black Cod - bok choy - togarashi - chilli thread
- Organic Salmon - purple potatoes - asparagus - leeks - Veronique sauce
On top of that, they'll have weekend brunch, a date-night menu and their signature cocktails too, like a Spiced Watermelon.
