Grab your handbags, Harrods is bringing the best of fashion and food together, with a gingerbread-themed Café Dior opening on its ground floor for a limited time.
Yes, the department store that needs no introduction and which certainly doesn’t shy away from extravagance, is taking your gingerbread fantasies to the next level. You can book now for that catch-up with a friend that is more than a little bit extra. What to expect? How about a tea room that wouldn’t look out of place in a Hansel & Gretel fairy-tale, seemingly adorned in gingerbread, tableware with touches of gold, and toile de Jouy seating? There are even Dior creations reimagined in biscuit format. Do you want the biscuit Book Tote, the Saddle or the Lady Dior bag, darling?
This is no mere sweet-shop gimmick, though, Café Dior serves breakfast and main meals morning to night, perfect for festive shopping pick-me-ups. On the menu:
- Lobster Thermidor with mixed herb and cress salad, yuzu vinaigrette
- Salmon and langoustine ravioli, pink grapefruit, basil and caviar sauce
- Roasted chestnut velouté, winter chanterelles, pancetta and black truffle
- Harissa-roasted butternut squash, buffalo burrata, pomegranate, mint and olive oil
- Baba À La Poire: Baba soaked in spiced syrup, poached pear and ginger crème
- A Christmas tree of honey cake with crème anglaise
If you wish to clink to 70 years of Dior in the store, the drinks list spans coffee and hot chocolate, Champagne and cocktails.
