Eagle-eyed Stokey residents will have spotted the imminent arrival of a new fish and chip shop on their doorsteps. Cod & Brew has taken over the corner site on Stoke Newington Church Street, where Truffle Burger was before, and is already on soft launch.

Having grown up in Stokey owners Inan and Kas have won best regional takeaway food in the past for their previous chippy, but this will be their first opening

There really aren't many proper fish and chip shops in the centre of town but of them, The Mayfair Chippy has a pretty decent reputation.

Just steps away from Oxford Street, their Mayfair restaurant has always been a draw for tourists but it helps that it manages to be good too. It might not be quite up to the standard of the average seaside

A new restaurant in Islington certainly highlights the cyclical nature of the restaurant business. Trawler Trash on Islington's Upper Street shut its doors in 2019 and the site has been closed ever since. But now a new restaurant has opened in the space and locals will be very pleased to learn that it's a fish and chip shop called Trawlerman's Fish

They'll be taking over where The House of Ho was and which used to be the old 2i’s
