Queen's Park

A longtime resident of Queen's Park, Daniel Land shares his favourite places to eat and drink in the area.

What was once Milk Beach is now Bar Blondie. Milk Beach's Elliot Milne has brought in top sommelier Alexandra Price to team up on this European-influenced wine bar and restaurant - we went down for a look.

Milk Beach has a big restaurant in Soho, but they originally began life in Queen's Park. However, that first Milk Beach is about to be reborn in a new guise, Bar Blondie.

The new Bar Blondie will be a wine bar that's run by Elliot Milne (who's behind Milk Beach) with award-winning sommelier Alexandra Price (previously Bar Crispin and Plates). Leaving behind the Australian influence of Milk Beach, this time the bar is looking to Southern Europe for inspiration.

That means the menu here will now take its cues from French and Italian cuisine, with dishes

To open any really successful pub in London, you need a dream team. The Devonshire in Soho has that in spades, so does the group behind The Pelican and The Hero. Entering the fray next, in Queen's Park, are the group behind the reopening of neighbourhood pub The Salusbury.

First up is co-owner Gareth Cooper who might not have done pubs before but knows a thing or two

The bakery element of this Queen's Park all-day space has already gone viral. But can the restaurant match it? We went for dinner to try out Don't Tell Dad.

16/12/24 - Updated with bakery launch details

One of the founders of Coco di Mama, Daniel Land, is opening a combo bakery/restaurant Don't Tell Dad in Queen's Park. Coming to Lonsdale Road, the strip of Queens Park where you'll find its best restaurants and bars, it'll be a bakery in the day and shift to a restaurant in the evening.

Looking at some of the recent openings, there are a few notable trends around London at the moment. Greek/Mediterranean is one and classic French cooking is another. And then there's the rise and rise of the smash burger.

The latest to embrace all things smashed is Supra Burger. It comes from the guy behind rotisserie chicken spot Cocotte, Romain Bourrillon, which is why they're kicking

Over the summer, Queen's Park residents have had an early look at a brand new restaurant on Lonsdale Road. LULA has been running residencies and private events for the past month or so, gearing up to today's opening. Describing themselves as an 'all-day dining Modern European restaurant' the really interesting thing about this place is the executive chef they've brought in.

Paul Delrez may not be a household name here,

Last year popular Smithfield haunt Lino made the announcement that they were closing their doors permanently. The pandemic, successive lockdowns and an unsupportive landlord did for them, despite positive reviews in both the Guardian and ...

With a new generation comes a new restaurant. The sibling duo behind newly opened Queen's Park restaurant Sudu are continuing their family legacy as they're children of the owners of Paddington's much-loved Satay House.

Since opening in 1973, Satay House has been a hit amongst the locals with their authentic Malaysian cuisine. In Queen's Park, Sudu has a shorter menu, but Satay House

The team behind Berber and Q have a new restaurant in Queen's Park that's something of a departure for them, We went along for a Test Drive.

3/11/21 - updated with the opening date

The team behind Berber & Q, Brothers Josh and Paul Katz and Mattia Bianchi, are getting ready to open a new restaurant in Queen's Park. Carmel will be both a bit of a departure from what came before, but still with a touch of inspiration from North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean. It's arriving on Lonsdale Road, just done the road

This all day neighbourhood spot has had a dramatic revamp and, even better, has a huge alfresco space too. We headed west to check it out.

A lot of restaurants in London have taken the enforced downtime of lockdown to take stock of their business. And over in Queen's Park, Aussie restaurant Milk Beach has decided that expansion is the way forward.

The team behind the all-day restaurant, which is tucked away on Lonsdale Road mews, have taken over next door Hugo's Restaurant. They'll be doing renovations over the coming two months, during which time they'll run as an outside shop

The Queen's Park cafe game just got a whole load more interesting with the arrival of MILK BEACH on Lonsdale Road. They're promising the absolute best coffee, banging brunches and the natural wine bar and small plates offering by night sounds great too.
