• Vagabond wine bar has arrived in Paddington

   

  There's have been changes afoot at Paddington Central recently (that's the space by the canal near the Hammersmith and City line). We've had the recent opening of The Grand Duchess, and now we've just learned of a brand new Vagabond wine bar that's opened in the area, immediately becoming the areas first wine bar.

• Pasta Nostra serves up fresh pasta and more on Old Street

  Two young chefs have brought their passion for pasta to East London, opening up this small plates and pasta restaurant which aims to do a few dishes very well.

• Bank House Wine Bar and Kitchen in Chislehurst comes from Stuart Gillies, ex Gordon Ramsay CEO

  He was chef and eventually CEO of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants and now Stuart Gillies is opening his own place. It's a wine bar that's taking over a Victorian building (that used to be a bank) on Chislehurst High Street.

• Bermondsey has a new Japanese restaurant in HAKATA Ramen + Bar

  Serving up ramen, Japanese small plates and more, this Bermondsey spot aims to be part NYC speakeasy, part Japanese dive bar.

• Bacchus N4 serves up wine and snacks on Stroud Green Road

  

  Stroud Green Road, just north of Finsbury Park station, is a lovely hotchpotch of indie bars, coffee shops and restaurants, so we're glad to see the trend continuing with the arrival of new wine bar and shop Bacchus N4.

  Owner Tolga used to run The Harvest deli in Crouch End and has been busy over the first two weeks of opening, honing the list here.

• Crate is a new container village in Walthamstow - with Baggio Burger, Italian Baker and more

   

  While we wait to see what Truman Brewery have planned in Walthamstow, another big new development has just opened. 

  Crate (not to be confused with the Hackney brewery) have just a new container village called Crate St James Street, designed to be a collection of food and drink outlets and shops (a bit like Boxpark) and a way for small businesses to start up.

  Crazy Pizza comes from ex-Formula One boss, Flavio Briatore, and promises to be a lively pizza joint with plenty of dough-tossing antics alongside thin crust pizzas. 

• Konditor bring their cakes to The City with a new Bank shop

  

  We'll admit, we're quite partial to a Konditor cake, particularly their wonderful Curly Whirly concoction. And now, after a rebrand (they've dropped the "and Cook") they're heading to Bank for their next shop. 

  And this store will be familiar if you've visited their others, featuring all the celebration cakes you could ever want as well as salted caramel brownies, desserts and more. They'll have ten seats

  The next people to get into the food hall business are The YBF's. They're teaming up with Rhubarb for this huge new food and drink area inside the big 22 Bishopsgate development. 

• Sichuan House opens in Islington

  If you've been up and down Islington's Upper Street recently, you'll have seen a new addition (taking over the space only recently vacated by Porchetta). Called Sichuan House, that's exactly what it is - Sichuan cuisine in Islington. 

• Happy Lamb Hot Pot are opening their first UK restaurant in Bloomsbury

  Originating in Mongolia, the Happy Lamb Hot Pot company now has branches across America and Canada and they're now aiming their sights at the London restaurant scene.

• Alex Kratena and TÁ TÁ Eatery to open Tayer and Elementary on Old St

  When the bartender who ran the World's Best Bar for years prepares to open an all-day bar and restaurant in London with fellow top class mixologist Monica Berg, you better believe people are going to sit up and take notice. And when TÁ TÁ Eatery is in charge of the food? Lucky Old Street.

• Ooty Station is a casual Indian cafe in Marylebone

   

  Fine dining Indian restaurant Ooty opened on Baker Street back in February and now its sister site Ooty Station is opening up right next door. Compared to the more formal main restaurant, Ooty Station is a casual cafe and bar serving Indian-inspired bar snacks, mains, and cocktails. 

  Ooty’s Head Chef Manmeet Singh-Bali (who won a Michelin star at Vineet Bhatia) is also behind Station’s menu
