The revamped Lanesborough gets a new French restaurant, Celeste

The Lanesborough gets a new restaurant called Celeste

Opening today - and a bit on the quiet side for a big hotel restaurant, we think - is the brand new restaurant from the Lanesborough, itself which is also reopening after a big revamp.

In charge of things is Chef Patron Eric Frechon, a Parisian three Michelin starred chef from Oetker Collection’s Le Bristol. He's picked his Executive Chef to be Florian Favario, previously Head Chef at Epicure in Paris (itself a three Michelin starred restaurant).

With that Parisian background, the food has a French feel, with British Produce. So that means dishes like:

  • Jellied Mackerel with cream of horseradish and blueberries
  • Devon Lamb with courgette couscous and harissa
  • Raspberries with ginger and lime, coconut sorbet.

The room is still as epic as ever. The inside has been redesigned by French designer Alberto Pinto but retains all the classic Regency looks that the room is famous for, including that amazing glass domed roof. And expect plenty of chandeliers - one promised to be 2m wide. So yes, it's should be a bit bling.

Celeste opens today, 15 July at The Lanesborough, Hyde Park Corner, London SW1X 7TA.
