The Blue Posts is about to launch a contender for best pub lunch in London

bluepostlunch

London's gastropub scene has been getting a real injection of creativity of late, what with Dan Doherty and Tom Oldroyd both opening their own boozers and Henry Harris bringing his skills to a range of pubs across the city. But in Piccadilly, the team behind The Blue Posts (and also Palomar and The Barbary) are about to launch a contender for best pub lunch menu in London.

Kicking off this week, the new menu is the brainchild of Luke Robinson, head chef of the Blue Posts' basement restaurant Evelyn’s Table. And it honestly sounds wonderful. If you're really dining and dashing, just grab six Orford oysters on the half shell before you head back to work. But if you can carve out a tiny bit more time, their fritto misto brioche roll both sounds (and looks) delicious.

As with any pub lunch menu there has to be a few burgers and Luke's come up with two. The Cheeseburger Au Cheval saw the team work with top butchers HG Walter to create their own beef patties. And there's also a Vegan Royale Burger too. If you're making a long lunch of it, why not order the new Bloody Mary as well, made with celeriac and horseradish infused vodka and Palo Cortado sherry?
