Gordon Ramsay's first out-of-town restaurant in 20-odd years is in a Cheshire five-star golf resort

Gordon Ramsay isn't slowing down at all. He already has two upcoming London restaurant openings, in April and May, and now we're hearing news about his first out-of-town opening in over 20 years.

This next project is also something of a departure for Ramsay as it sees him opening in Cheshire as part of a major resort £60 million redevelopment (with a big golf club attached). As first broken by The Knutsford Guardian, the local paper, he'll be opening Gordon Ramsay at The Mere. That's a Fairmont resort; they also own The Savoy, so we can see how that existing working relationship would have helped him seal the deal.

All we really know so far is that it will be a "refined dining experience" and given that this is a five-star hotel, we can expect something more along the lines of Ramsay's upper-end restaurants like Petrus.

It's all right in the middle of affluent footballer territory, so we think he'll definitely find a market here. We'll add more news about the opening as we get it.
