Hot Dinners launches its 2026 Murphia List with a very Irish party at The Marylebone

Now that we're in our 12th year of publishing our annual Murphia List, celebrating the Irish talent working in London's hospitality scene, we've gotten pretty good at throwing a proper party for it. This year was our eighth party, our third time having it at gorgeous West End hotel The Marylebone and our first time with a brand new sponsor, Kerrygold.

For us the important thing is getting a bunch of incredibly creative and talented Irish people in one room. This year's party guests included The Devonshire's publican Oisin Rogers, restaurateurs and podcasters the Wogan brothers, chef Patrick Powell and MasterChef judge Anna Haugh.

Of course, it helps when they're also fuelled with some of the best Irish food and drink available. Kerrygold stepped up to the plate, roping in Anna Haugh. She came up with a range of amazing whipped Kerrygold butters featuring smoked Achill Island sea salt; coffee and treacle along with anchovy and truffle of the sea, which she served on bread from her own restaurant, Myrtle.

Canapes doing the rounds included skewers of Hannan Meats' award-winning Irish ribeye, cheese toasties with Ballymaloe relish, Clonakilty white pudding arancini and Cashel Blue cheese and Clonakilty black pudding tartlets. We also had Rocks Irish oysters being torched to order with Kerrygold garlic butter. Finally, and most theatrically, there were Kerrygold honey butter ice creams made by Chin Chin Labs that looked incredibly like real pats of butter.

It's not a real Irish party without some pints of the black stuff, and this year that was supplied by Dalston's 40FT Brewery who were busy pouring pints of their Deep Irish Nitro Stout. That was matched with Boatyard gin martinis and wines from Doran Wines. As the speeches were being made, waiters passed through the room passing out glasses of Kerrygold butter-washed Jameson whiskey Old Fashioneds.

And we pride ourselves on giving guests the best goodybags. Ours came with special Murphia Party bags of Rosslyn Coffee, proper Tayto crisps, the Bacon cookbook by Niamh Shields, Boatyard miniatures, Kerrygold butter, socks and special prints and a bag of Blanco Nino tortilla chips, along with the promise of a free drink at 108 Marylebone, the hotel's bar and restaurant.
