Mondo To Go is going to be Mondo Sando's new sandwich shop in Deptford

South East Londoners must be wondering what they did right in a previous life to warrant the riches of top-tier sandwiches coming their way. Not only do they have a Mondo Sando at The Grove House Tavern and Cafe Mondo in Camberwell, but they're about to get a takeaway sarnie shop in Mondo To Go in Deptford.

And while co-founders Jack Macrae and Viggo Blegvad's other two establishments are more about eating in, their new Deptford arch will be more of a sandwiches-to-go spot. That said, there is space for 50 seats outside, so as long as the spring weather continues to improve you will be able to perch and enjoy your sandwich there.

We're told that this next opening will offer all of the Mondo signature sarnies and sides but there will be some additional exclusive Deptford-only sandos too. So if you've already been to the other two, you'll want to come here as well to complete the set. And they do have a full drinks line-up planned from pints of beer to slushies and house sodas.

So why is this part of town getting all the love? "After many years working in Camberwell, 5 minutes from Jack’s flat," they explained, "it’s only fair we open a site in Deptford, 5 minutes from Viggo’s.” The new opening also means that if you haven't been within delivery radius of the two Camberwell sites, you may now be in luck.

As for the rest of us in other sandwich-deficient postcodes, we'll just have to wait in hope for more openings in the future.
