Sushisamba London introduces Japanese Kobe beef to the menu

kobeIf you're a steak nut who likes to go that extra mile (not to mention spending more money) to try something new and different, the new Kobe beef menu and dishes coming to Sushisamba will definitely be up your street.

Following the brokering of a deal with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Japan and the Kobe Beef Marketing & Distribution Promotion Association the restaurant's chef Claudio Cardoso has secured a supply of the extraordinarily expensive and rare meat.

If you've got a grand burning a hole in your pocket, why not treat three friends (or very good clients) to the a £1000 Ishiyaki. This features 1kg of Kobe beef, cooked over a sizzling hot stone alongside hatcho miso, aji panca, truffle ponzu, and mixed salad and pickled plums.

If that's a little too rich for your blood, you can try an à la carte, with kobe nigiri and sashimi (£24) or special nigiri with caviar and kizami wasabi or a robata-grilled Kobe ribeye (£144).

Perhaps you read that now-infamous Forbes article on how American diners were being fobbed off with fake Kobe and are wondering how you'd know if this was the real deal? Well you'll see the beef before it's cooked as well as getting a certificate from the Ministry as to its authenticity.

The Kobe Ishiyaki experience is now available at Sushisamba London. 48 hours notice is required for parties of 4 and 72 hours of notice is required for parties of 5 or more
