Regent Street Food Safari 2012 is underway

regent street food safariIf you're the kind of person who can't settle down and likes to always be on the go, then the Regent St Food Safari could have been made for you. Now in its third year, it brings together all kinds of restaurants on or adjacent to Regent Street in a celebration of the area's food.

A range of restaurants create taster dishes (and sometimes drinks) for the festival so you can flit from place to place, trying the dishes for a knock down rate - Taste of London style. Although you can just nip in as you prefer, they advise you to book ahead where you can to make sure there's a table for you to flit to.

This year's safari includes Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill, FishWorks, The Living Room W1, Sartoria, Freggo, Tsukiji Sushi at The Westbury Hotel and Courthouse Doubletree by Hilton. The Safari runs until 15 March 2012.

Here are some of the highlights on this year's menus:

Tsukiji Sushi at The Westbury Hotel
Gindara No Karaage - deep fried black cod belly with jalapeno salsa £6.50
Tataki O Toro Maki  - seared tuna belly with caviar £9.50

Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill
Half a dozen oysters with a glass of Champagne - £20

Sartoria
£17 for a one course and a cocktail, for example Torrone semifreddo, frutto della passione with a Bison Lychee Martini.
