What: Mortimer House Kitchen

In a nutshell: Health-conscious Mediterranean and Middle Eastern

Summing it all up: You’ll normally need a membership to gain access to Mortimer House, Fitzrovia’s new “premium workspace and wellbeing destination”. Or skip that part, and head straight to the restaurant for all-day dining. Plus, for avo fiends - the breakfast menu has a separate avocado section...

The low-down

If you’ve been keen to get a peek inside Fitzrovia’s swanky new club Mortimer House but don’t want to cough up for a membership, you’ll soon have your chance when it opens its new restaurant, the Mortimer House Kitchen, to the public.

Inside, the 90-cover venue will be serving food with a Med-meets-Middle East vibe, which means dishes like charcoal cauliflower with garlic aioli, courgette spaghetti with pistachio pesto and smoked ricotta and charcoal-grilled pluma Ibérico with smoked aubergine, tahini and za'atar. You'll be able to order one of six bespoke cocktails too, or choose from an extensive selection of bio-wines imported from across the Middle East and Europe.

For early birds, their breakfast menu will have an entire *section* dedicated to the capital’s beloved avocado, including smoked salmon with baked avocado and poached eggs, plus dishes like grilled halloumi on flaxseed bread. Healthier sorts will be catered to with gluten-free snacks, nut milks, breakfast bowls and energy balls.
