Moreno Cedroni to open restaurant at Kensington's Baglioni Hotel

moreno[Updated 29/10/12 with revised opening date and menu details]

We've had a few Italian Michelin-starred chefs heading over to the London over the past few years to open restaurants with varying degrees of success. Now another chef is joining their ranks.

Moreno Cedroni runs three restaurants in Ancona - one of them the two Michelin-starred fish restaurant La Madonnina del Pescatore. He's coming to London to open up a diffusion restaurant at the Baglioni Hotel in Kensington - along the lines of what Daniel Boulud did when he opened Bar Boulud.

Cedroni created a reputation for himself by coming up with the concept of suschi - his Italian take on raw fish. His food, which won his restaurant a spot in the Wall Street Journal's top 10 fish restaurants in Europe list last year, is described as "new-wave".

The restaurant will serve up two set menus for lunch and dinner; the three course prezzo fisso lunch with coffee will be £22.50 and three course prezzo fisso dinner with coffee will be £29. Dishes on both will include; Veal Shank with Lentils and Smoked Potato Puree, Warm Sea Bass Carpaccio with Lemon Mashed Potato and Rocket Sauce and Chef Moreno Cedroni’s take on the classic Italian Tiramisu.

The restaurant at the Baglioni will open on Wednesday 31 October 2012 and will be open daily for lunch from 12:30 – 14:30 and for dinner from 17:30 – 23:00.
