Green's puts caviar back on the menu at Duke Street

greensIs this a sign of London's improving fortunes? Three years after it was taken off the menu due to customers feeling the pinch, caviar is now back at Green's Restaurant & Oyster Bar. It was originally taken off in 2010 as a reaction to "the way the economic situation was putting a strain on customers' wallets" a spokesperson told Hot Dinners today.

In celebration of its return, the St James restaurant has revamped its bar space, turning it into a caviar, vodka and chamagne bar. There'll be three different caviars on offer - Royal Baerii (£37.50), Russian Oscietra (£47.50) and Imperial (£57.50). As for drinks to accompany your caviar - how about Laurent-Perrier Champagne and chilled Kaufman Vodka?

The bar will be serving up caviar with dill blinis, crème fraîche, chopped egg and tsar’s cut salmon, house cured in beetroot and vodka. And if you fancy pushing the boat out (or got an early Christmas bonus) you might want to try a Green’s Full Selection of all three (£135).
