5 reasons to try La Brasseria in Marylebone

Fraquelli brothers Andrea and Alberto opened La Brasseria Milanese to bring La Dolce Vita to Marylebone High St. The inspiration came from their experiences working abroad with influences from Paris, New York blended with Milanese style at its core to create a modern city living all day dining experience. If you haven't been down to try it out yet, here are five good reasons why you should make the journey.

1. Recipes from the heart and home

Hearty and authentic Italian recipes that worked for their ancestors are at the core of the lunch and dinner menus at La Brasseria, such as the Cotoletta alla Milanese or Fettucine della casa (with radicchio and truffle cream). Ingredients are carefully sourced from the every corner of Italy with new dishes being added every month to their seasonal menu. In December you can try their fresh casarecce pasta with swordfish, aubergine cream and toasted breadcrumbs or risotto porcini with fresh truffle.

2. Milanese design in Marylebone

The restaurant's rather fabulous interiors are based on classic brasseries with Milanese architecture, fashion and style at its core. Throughout the restaurant you can find references to Milanese designers Achille Castiglioni, Fornasetti and Ettore Sottsass as well as maps of Milan and classic photos from the beautiful 50s and 60s.

3. A neighbourhood atmosphere

Italians do it better (their words) and the La Brasseria team is built on Italian family values. They say all their customers will feel that warmth extended to them, dogs included!

4. A place to hide away

The dining room here has four exquisite hidden alcoves each hand-painted by Milanese design house Pictalab. These hidden gems are the perfect hidden location for a group looking to escape the everyday hustle.

5. Italy meets American brunch

La Brasseria say they're the only place in town using Italian ingredients and American influences to put together an unique transatlantic operation first thing in the morning. For breakfast you can either have a simple Milanese cornetto (Italian croissant) with an espresso or their homemade ricotta pancakes. On the weekend all the late risers can stroll into a very vibey brunch (11am – 4pm) scene to enjoy a Bellini with a club or vegano sandwich.
