Unless you're going out with Lewis Hamilton, used to be married to Brad Pitt or are an A-list model that once bathed in Champagne at a London hotel you're unlikely to already be a member of one of the Maison Estelle clubs. But the good news is that over in Notting Hill at their newest club opening you're actually now able to pop in and try the club restaurant.
Celeste is the main eatery at Estelle Community, which opened its doors on Ledbury Road in the spring, taking over the old Beach Blanket Babylon space. The restaurant has always been open to the public (although it doesn't look as though many people knew that). But if you want access to the listening room and izakaya upstairs you need to be a member.
Set on the ground floor of the building, it's an all-day Italian-American restaurant which they say has 'a subtle Californian influence'. If you're wondering what that means, then dishes like Atlantic bluefin tuna crudo with San Marzano tomato salsa, stracciatella and basil and the signature Celeste linguine ai tre pomodori are said to be good examples.
Having had a look through the menu, even the breakfast offering sounds pretty good, with French toast with mandarin and yuzu marmalade and hazelnut crumble a must-try. And the good news for anywhere in this heat is that they also have a decent sized terrace too.
