Dante Mayfair takes over as the new permanent Claridge's restaurant

Date Mayfair takes over as the new permanent Claridge's restaurant

Since the closure of Davies & Brook back in 2021 after Daniel Humm decided to go vegan, the restaurant at Claridge's has somewhat struggled to find an identity. However, last summer saw the launch of New York's Dante as a pop-up there which really started to get some of the space's mojo back. They must be very pleased with the collab as they've just announced that Dante will now be the permanent restaurant at Claridge's.

What this means is that the space that was Claridge's Restaurant has now closed. It will reopen in mid-June as Dante Mayfair with New York restaurateurs Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson (who run Dante in New York) fully taking it over. About the new opening, Pride says, "At Dante Mayfair, we will amp up the volume on our New York roots across design, menu, and music, aiming to bring an impish sense of fun to Davies Street. That sense of a neighbourhood that Dante’s created for decades in New York? Mayfair’s about to feel it!"

Don't expect a massive change to the room after just a month's refurb, but it will be interesting to see just what they do with it. As for food, the dishes that appeared in the pop-up, like their signature burrata dish, shrimp cocktail and chicken alla diavola, should be making a return. And once again, the martinis will be a big deal, as will their "fluffy" orange juice cocktail. We'll bring you full news about the new menu closer to the opening date.
