Only a few months ago we told you about FORNO’s second site in London, now they’re opening a third space – this time in Mile End’s Ragged School Museum, taking over the existing cafe and elevating its offerings significantly.
Whether you’re strolling Regent’s Canal towpath, inexplicably craving some sweet maritozzi or in need of a fig brown butter tart while kids are on an excursion of the museum’s reconstructed Victorian classrooms, this all-day space is bringing not just FORNO’s renowned bakery goods, but brunch and lunch too.
There’ll also be a separate takeaway space for coffee and pastries. What was once the museum’s conference room will stock FORNO’s shelf staples for your home pantries, which sounds like the most delicious use of a conference room we’ve heard in a while.
We’ll keep you posted on the menu specifics, but we’re looking forward to the waft of freshly baked ciabatta as the cold mornings set in and, if the brunch/lunch offerings are anything like FORNO’s ‘big brother’ restaurant Ombra in Bethnal Green, maybe some spaghetti, fava bean, pistachio and pecorino or an aged pork loin with grape mustard. And tiramisu, obviously.
