Claude Bosi closes his two Michelin-starred Bibendum restaurant in shock announcement

London's restaurant scene was rocked by an unexpected announcement today as Claude Bosi revealed that he had closed his eponymous Michelin-starred restaurant in South Kensington.

In a statement released on Instagram, Bosi and his wife Lucy said: "Despite our very best efforts, we were unable to reach a resolution with our partners and landlords that would allow Michelin House to move into its next chapter...It has been an honour to be part of the Michelin House story, and a privilege to share that journey with you."

Until now, this was the jewel in Bosi's crown. The restaurant, which was situated in the old Michelin building, was opened by the chef back in 2017 and entered the Michelin guide with two stars a year later. Since then, of course, the chef has been busy opening (and closing) Socca in Mayfair, opening the two Michelin-starred restaurant Brooklands at The Pensinsula London and expanding his more casual empire in the form of Josephine in Chelsea and Marylebone.

Bosi's main restaurant at Bibendum had its final service at the weekend, and the oyster bar will close at the end of this week. Bosi's decision makes his the second two Michelin-starred restaurant in London to shut up shop this year. The other was another high-end French establishment Le Dame Du Pic, by the French chef Anne-Sophie Pic.
