Their chopped cheese sandwiches are the talk of the Big Apple and now Londoners are going to get a chance to try them. Bodega City made a name for itself, moving from an insanely popular street food truck to a permanent spot in the South Bronx. If you haven't had a chopped cheese before, then as owner Jeremy explains, "it's essentially a cheeseburger chopped up on a roll with lettuce, tomato, ketchup and mayo...to me it's New York City's Philly cheesesteak."
For the next month, you'll be able to try the sandwich for yourself as Jeremy and his team are the latest (and final) takeover in the Truffle Burger & Friends pop-up series on the Southbank. For almost four weeks, they'll be serving up their OG sarnie along with a Regular Shhmegular, which swaps out the beef for chopped fried chicken and a choice of either Adobo or Loaded Bodega fries.
Better still, if you're there on opening day they'll be giving away 250 free sandwiches to the first hungry folk that show up.
