Lord knows that London is not the cheapest of cities to live in. Add that to the general cost of living crisis we're in and we're all, bar a few billionaires, feeling the pinch. So the news that everyone's favourite bao slinger BAO are turning back the clock 10 years on their prices has to be worth a few air punches.
It's all part of general celebrations being held for the restaurant group's 10th birthday. For the next month they'll be selling their classic baos at 2015 prices, so just £3.50 each. So if you fancy their OG braised pork, vegan daikon or beef short rib now is definitely the time to go back and enjoy one.
The group are also taking their big birthday year to give their menu a 2025 overhaul with a bunch of new dishes including:
- A calamari bao
- Dry beef noodles tossed with bone marrow
- Taiwanese fried chicken wings with a Peking caramel glaze
There's also a new dessert, a BAONUT, which is the love child of a bao and a deep-fried doughnut, which we're 100% going to have to try.
