The 2023 Top 50 Gastropubs are announced - Parkers Arms tops the list, Red Lion and Sun is London's best

Kicking off the year with the first major awards of the season, the Top 50 Gastropubs of 2023 were announced last night. 

This year it's the turn of a pub that we hear no end of great things about - The Parkers Arms. The Lancashire pub, led by Kathy Smith and Stosie Madi. Last year's number one The Unruly Pig drops only one place to number two. 

As for London, the top pub here edges into the top 10 at number 10 - it's The Red Lion and Sun in Highgate (which is a personal favourite of ours). Elsewhere, the highest new entry goes to Islington Pub The Baring which leaps in at number 23. There's also the return to the list of one of the first London gastropubs on the scene - The Eagle in Farringdon.
