Whisht bring their sandwiches with an Irish twist to Pop Brixton

We've been reading about Whisht for a while - who started selling sandwiches with an Irish twist during the most recent lockdown. Now that we've all properly emerged from lockdown, Whisht have done the same and moved onto a brand new kitchen in Pop Brixton, which opened last week.

The sandwiches there are made with different types of farl - best described as a dense Irish flatbread of sorts. On the menu you might find:

  • Soda farl filled with sausage patty, fried egg, bacon, whisky onion jam (plus optional cheese & black pudding)
  • Soda farl with Guinness pulled beef, pickled carrots, hot sauce and Tayto Cheese & Onion crisps
  • Open top colcannon slim - a potato farl with confit cabbage, crispy cabbage leaves, whisky onion jam and garlic mayo.

On top of that, they have Irish drinks in the shape of Cidona and Club Rock Shandy - the latter of which may be our personal favourite soft drink ever. Or you can have some Jameson with your sandwiches if you prefer. All of which sound like very good reasons to get yourselves down to Pop Brixton.
