A Hot Dinners exclusive
One of London's coolest bars reopens tonight with a hot new food offering. Tayēr + Elementary by Alex Kratena and Monica Berg created quite the stir when it first opened (you can read our Test Drive here) with its cutting edge cocktails and an equally innovative food offering by Tata Eatery.
Closed since lockdown, it's opening with new drinks AND a new food partner. From tonight, the front bar Elementary will reopen. They'll be serving up drinks like their One Sip Martini and ēe Frozen Coffee alongside new highballs, a fresh Pale Ale from Partizan Brewing and 6/4 On Leaves, their new house skin contact wine which has been made in collaboration with notable Czech winemaker Petr Koráb.
There's a new terrace bar and - if you prefer - a bottle shop will be in operation if you want to take drinks away, like the bottled cocktails the duo came up with during lockdown.
As for food, taking over the kitchen is Kitchen FM - a residency run by the French chef duo Fabien Spagnolo and Max Truel, formerly of Frenchie Covent Garden and Crispin. Their menu sounds pitch perfect for a cocktail bar with a range of snacks and small plates.
Dishes will include:
- Pig’s Head Croquette with kimchi and oyster mayo
- Deep Fry Chicken with a smoked and spicy maple glaze and pickles
- Marinated Peppers with fermented greens, an anchovy dressing and focaccia
- Plum Jam With Ginger Ice Cream and a Chocolate Mousse
The back bar space Tayēr will return in October and Kitchen FM will be running the Kitchen Counter experience there too.
