What: Raj of Islington

In a nutshell: Indian takeover on Holloway Road

Summing it all up: Kensington based restaurant chain heads north of the river to bring their take on classic Indian dishes to Holloway Road.

The low-down

Three years after opening their first restaurant, Raj of Kensington, the team behind that restaurant are moving north of the river to open Raj of Islington. They'll be taking over the Indian Ocean Tandoori on the section of Holloway Road close to the Nag's Head.

Here, they'll be serving up a similar selection of classic Indian dishes given their modern interpretation, as they do in W8, combining Indian spices with great British produce. Signature dishes you can expect to find on the menu in Holloway include their Railway Lamb Curry and Murg Salli Zardaloo, along with Keralan crispy soft-shell crab in spicy batter.

For drinks there'll be house made mocktails, loads of gin - including three sourced from Indian - and a decent wine selection.
