In the run-up to the commercial moneyfest that is Christmas, it's always nice to have something to remind us that this time of year can also be, you know, about doing something nice for others.
So we're pleased to hear that once again StreetSmart are launching their annual fundraising campaign, working with London restaurants to raise money for vulnerable and homeless members of their local community during November and December.
This year there are over 600 restaurants across the UK taking part, ranging from returning participants like The River Cafe and Core by Clare Smyth through to newbies like Flor, Scully and Emile.
Best of all, there's literally nothing we restaurant-goers have to do, bar accepting the voluntary £1 to our bill during the festive months.
“Anything we can do to alleviate the pain of homelessness, especially at this time of year, is worthwhile," says chef and restaurateur Monica Galetti. "With StreetSmart it is so easy and 100% of the money raised goes direct to people most in need.”
