Yum Bun unleashes the mighty Brunch Bun at Canary Wharf

Yum Bun unleashes the mighty Brunch Bun at Canary Wharf

Now THAT's a snack that we'd happily pop over to Canary Wharf just to get our hands on it. This is the Brunch Bun from Yum Bun, which they're touting as "the capital’s FIRST EVER brunch-inspired bao".

As for what it is - that's "lightly toasted bao with a slice of gouda, stuffed with either shredded ham hock or Portobello mushrooms, topped with a crispy breadcrumbed soft boiled egg and a squeeze of mustard mayo". Frankly, that seems like just the thing to kick-start our day proper.

Yum Bun's Lisa Meyer says:

Toasting the buns gives them a tasty brioche-like flavour - so the overall effect is more like a naughty croque-madame than a Chinese bao…but delicious nonetheless.”

You can get the Brunch Bun all day on Saturday at Giant Robot Canary Wharf. So that's a plan for Saturday then.
