Matt Whiley's Scout cocktails bar is on the move to Hackney (and will have a Gold Tooth bar downstairs)

Matt Whiley's Scout is on the move to Hackney

One of our favourite London bars is on the move. We've been fans of Matt Whiley's Scout since it opened on Great Eastern Street - but now it's moving to a new location in Hackney (on Graham Road, just around the corner from Hackney Central station). If you're not familiar with Whiley, he's one of London's top mixologists - and you may have seen his cocktails at Lyle's and you'll find them at the new Old Compton Brasserie

Apparently, many of Scout's cocktails will transfer over to the new location, and as before sustainability is at the heart of the menu. The new place will also be a larger venue - seating 40 - and there will be more food too. We're told "a former pastry chef from the two Michelin star Hélène Darroze at The Connaught" will be joining them - so that bodes very well indeed. We'll have more on the menu soon.

On top of that - or more accurately underneath that, he's also opening a new place in the basement. This will be Gold Tooth. That's to showcase Whiley's kegged cocktails - and will have four changing cocktails on tap (as well as beer and wine) for those of you who need their cocktails a little more right now. That'll have a focus on art too - with London-based artist The Rugman’s art on show and a monthly evening art gallery.
