Southwark

The stretch between Borough and Southwark now has a compelling new bar and restaurant offering, courtesy of Lady of the Grapes. We went down for a few glasses of wine and to peruse the French bistro menu.

With food halls in Sheffield and Manchester, Blend Family have moved down to London for their latest opening. Tower Bridge Collective features 13 traders and two bars in a spot that isn't currently blessed with that many street food options. They've taken over a space that's just off Shad Thames within steps of the southern side of the bridge.

And with a food list that features both Northern and London-based

One of Barcelona's top wine bars is coming to London, for two months only. Bar Brutal is known for its inventive small plates and natural wine list (we visited it ourselves a few years back) and it's coming over here to pop up at Seabird.

As part of the pop-up, they're creating eight new dishes for the menu, described as "coastal classics with

You may have spotted videos on your social (or maybe it's just our algorithm) of a rise in London pubs offering proper sing songs, whether that's trad Irish tunes or music with a broader appeal. Now it's Southwark's turn as the team behind Mc & Sons in Borough and Vauxhall are opening their very first singing pub in Southwark.

Good news for cocktail aficionados, with the return of Oriole, previously one of the World’s 50 Best Bars, to a new location. After closing its doors on New Year’s Day, as a result of Smithfield Market’s redevelopment and the Museum of London’s relocation, Oriole is hoping to summon its former Farringdon fans just over Blackfriars Bridge to The Hoxton Southwark.

It’s a

Chef Akwasi Brenya-Mensa's Tatale is one of the year's most highly-anticipated openings. We went down to Southwark's new African Centre to check it out.

The team behind Flat Iron Square and Goods Way are just about to open what looks to be an interesting combo of bar and restaurant Carrubo and In Horto just around the corner from Borough Market.

The restaurant side of things is In Horto which will be serving homestyle food straight from a bespoke brick oven amongst a whole lot of floral décor. On the menu you'll

He's already been popping up around London with his supper clubs, but now chef Akwasi Brenya-Mensa is getting ready to open Tatale as a permanent restaurant, housed in The Africa Centre in Southwark.

With a menu focused around Pan-African cuisine, Tatale takes its name from a Ghanaian dish, the plantain

Given the Tier 2 rules mean that all socialising is pretty much outdoors for the foreseeable, London's restaurants and bars have been busy weatherproofing their terraces and outside spaces. All of which makes it hard to stand out from the crowd, but Southwark restaurant Bala Baya seems to have succeeded.

They've just opened their Discarded Umbrella Winter Garden. It's a tie in with Discarded Spirits Co and Bala Baya’s

It's now clear what Gordon Ramsay has spent Lockdown 2.0 doing. In addition to messing around on TikTok, he's been planning world domination. And he's starting with London, where he's opening five new 'street food' restaurants, three of those before the end of 2020.

Launching a new Gordon Ramsay brand will be Street Burger. That's opening at One New Change, presumably as part of Ramsay's sprawling

Tandoor Chop House (currently in Covent Garden) is about to get a new spin-off in Southwark called Tandoor Tacos. They are exactly as they sound - a mash-up of Mexican and Indian food, with the Chop House paratha breads converted into tacos.

Here's what's on the menu:

• A Peas Yourself - Chickpeas, ginger, garlic and chilli, pickled cucumber and endive,

This is not a drill. Nando's are starting to reopen their restaurants.

Last night, Nando's revealed to a customer that they had quietly reopened seven restaurants in the UK and Ireland - four of them in London.

Having initially opened to "support the NHS and local charities" - they have so far delivered over 10,000 meals to those - the restaurant chain was using that to see how

We head up to the 14th floor of the Hoxton Southwark and fall hopelessly in love with this high rise seafood spot where the decor is pure Miami but the vibe is all London.

Southwark's hip new Hoxton hotel may be going big on its rooftop seafood spot, but it also has this buzzy ground floor all day dining restaurant with a plant-based focus.

The newest Hoxton hotel is bringing with it a seafood restaurant with an impressive view across London. And they've brought in the people behind top Brooklyn restaurant Maison Premiere to run it.
