A new wagyu-led restaurant that originates in Fukuoka, Japan, is getting ready to bring late-night wagyu steaks to Fitzrovia.

Wagyu Yakiniku USHIO is taking over the site that used to be Palms of Goa, which itself closed last year, after over 30 years on Charlotte Street. It's based on Fukuoka restaurant USHIO Haruyoshi Bettei, and the head chef from the original restaurant is coming over to launch the London outpost.

They already have orange, yellow, scarlet, blue and violet Little Doors around town and now a Little Neon Door is getting ready to open in Shoreditch. 

Taking over what was once Floripa cocktail bar, this is going to follow the template of the other, very successful, Little Doors in the growing franchise. So it's essentially themed after a house party, and you could have cocktails in the Sitting Room, a party in the Living Room and Kitchen, karaoke in the shower and loot the fancy dress cupboard in the Dressing Room (which also has karaoke).

The man behind the hugely popular Korean/Japanese restaurant Dotori is getting ready to open a second place, this time in the City. Alan Tse has been running the much-loved Finsbury Park spot for the past eight years, during which time he also managed to squeeze in training at the Japan Culinary Institute in Tokyo.

To that end, they've bought the space behind them and will be closing for three weeks this month to transform into Bambi 2.0. The new, enhanced version is going to be double the size it is now. Dover Street Counter sounds like it'll be much more of a playful, casual spot. They're pitching it as "a place to drop in - and likely stay longer than planned."
