Wilton Way Deli and Wines has built up a strong following in Hackney and now owner Francesca D’Agostino is getting ready to expand with a second opening - but not too far away. She's going as far as the corner of Wilton Road to open Fran's. 

She describes Fran's as an "all-day caff" open from breakfast to the evening, "inspired by the old-style Italian/British cafes

A new bar is coming to Hackney, taking the space that was once Silver Lining (and very briefly House of Hades). You Call the Shots comes from the same team as The Prince Arthur in London Fields and The Plough in Homerton (Emma Piggott and Jonathan Mercer) but this will be a little different to those pubs. 

The year of high-profile closures continues. The latest restaurant to reveal that it's shutting the doors, after nine years, is Pidgin, James Ramsden and Sam Herlihy's Hackney restaurant. But just because they're leaving, it doesn't mean it's quite the end for this tiny Hackney restaurant.

A somewhat quiet opening in Hackney earlier this month is already starting to get a lot of positive reactions. Miga bills itself as a "modern Korean kitchen" and it's a family affair coming from two brothers and their chef father. Originally starting in New Malden, their mother currently has a takeaway in Morden while their father runs the kitchen at this restaurant in Hackney.

Looks like Hackney Wick's Fish Island is doing pretty well for itself at the moment with restaurants. We've already reported on the upcoming Inis opening there and Test Driven new pizzeria

Unlock sits by the canal in Hackney Wick, mixing up art and gourmet pizzas. We took a stroll down by the canal to have a closer look.
