This fine dining restaurant in Chelsea has racked up some serious accolades, led by Chef Patron Taylor Bonnyman and Head Chef Marguerite Keogh. Produce-driven (they have their own kitchen garden to supply much of what they cook), the 40-seater restaurant has a team with a huge amount of experience at the top end of British, European and American dining.

Downstairs from Soho pub The Blue Posts is this tiny restaurant, run by head chef James Goodyear. It's a small counter dining affair with only 11 seats. Expect a regularly changing menu that mixes up British produce with Scandinavian and Japanese techniques.

A seafood shop during the day, The Sea The Sea also has a seafood bar that's open from lunch and into the evening (and they have a heated terrace). here you'll find a daily changing menu of small plates with seafood that couldn't be fresher. You'll also find plenty of oysters and caviar on the menu.

This is the main London home for chef Philip Howard, and he's earned it a Michelin star too. They pitch themselves as serving "pure, seasonal, ingredient led, gimmick free" food and is showcases a more casual dining approach than his previous restaurants.

The Dover

The Dover is a Mayfair restaurant by Martin Kuczmarski, former right-hand man to Soho House's Nick Jones, aiming for understated glamour with NYC Italian-inspired cuisine. With an ambience best described as "casual but not too casual", there's a real feel of old-school Mayfair hospitality here. The menu is also welcomingly old-school with dishes including an excellent Chicken Cordon Bleu. On top of that, there's an impressive bar specializing in martinis that' it's worth visiting for alone.

12 Heddon St, London W1B 4BZ

Fonda is the second restaurant from Santiago Lastra who had such a big hit with his first restaurant Kol that it got onto the World's 50 best list. This is a slightly more casual and affordable Mexican restaurant when compared to Kol, with the menu focused around the type of home cooking the chef loves. Expect some great tacos as well as top cocktails, Palomas particularly.

Lisboeta comes from Nuno Mendes, the man behind Viajante, the launch of Chiltern Firehouse and more. As the name suggests, it's heavily influenced by the cuisine of Portugal and Lisbon in particular. Expect plenty of Portuguese small plates, rice dishes and more.

Apricity is the latest restaurant from Chantelle Nicholson (previously behind Tredwells). Here, they have a menu that's veg-forward (but not exclusively) and have a strong eye on seasonality and low-waste. Expect some exceptionally crafted dishes here.

Kitchen Table is the high-end counter dining restaurant from James Knappett and Sandia Chang. It's in a setting that sees you seated around the open kitchen watching and interacting with the chefs while they create a spectacular tasting menu for you.

This is the third restaurant from the Noble Rot team (again teaming up with The Sportsman's Stephen Harris). A bigger space than their Soho restaurant, this boasts two bars which are very handy for popping for snacks and a glass or two of wine. The restaurant sees them bring a menu of "indulgence" and this also boasts one of their most extensive wine lists.

Akoko is centred around West African cuisine and they say their aim is to "pay homage to the country's culinary heritage by using recipes passed down through generations and traditional cooking techniques of smoking, curing and fermenting".

A London institution, having been around since 1916, this Piccadilly spot has thrived under Richard Corrigan's ownership. Whether you're perched up at the counter having oysters from some of the best shuckers in the world or upstairs in the more formal dining room, you'll get amazing seafood here.

A menu with some Irish influence is on offer at this neighbourhood restaurant from Robin Gill (ex-The Dairy), which happens to be inspired by his father. It's an all-day restaurant, bakery and oyster bar just opposite the US Embassy. Particular attention is paid to their sourcing and you should be able to get a great pint of Guinness here too.

Two Drops Battersea

This cosy neighbourhood bar is from the team behind Quo Vadis and Barrafina so they know a thing or two about good food and wine. On the wine front, there’s plenty by both the glass and bottle and there's plenty of beer on tap too, with a focus on Guinness and Estrella. The food offering focuses on the cheese toastie with classic options and guest sandwiches on rotation. The sheltered riverside terrace is a boon on warmer days.

Popular tapas spot Boqueria is an independent restaurant focusing on giving Battersea residents a flavour of Spain. As the name suggests, it’s inspired by Barcelona’s iconic food market - expect a range of croquetas, classic tapas, and proper paella. If you want to push the boat out the restaurant’s roast suckling pig is a must and the wine list is a treasure trove of well-known favourites and lesser-known gems.

The first bricks-and-mortar site from top-tier catering company Spook London, Archway is one of those neighbourhood spots everyone wished they had nearby. A tight menu focuses on what’s in season, with the chef’s River Cafe roots showing in the Italian-influenced dishes. The name, in case you’re confused, references its location in an old railway arch.

Augustine

63 Battersea Bridge Rd, London SW11 3AU

Classic French restaurant Augustine is run by chef Franck Raymond (formerly at Mon Plaisir). Here in Battersea, his menu is informed by his upbringing in the Evian region of France so, in addition to classic dishes like French onion soup you’ll also find regional specialities on offer. The all-French wine list is well worth perusing.

Bao Noodle Shop Battersea

Every branch of Bao has a distinct identity and for their Battersea branch, the team took inspiration from the noodle shops of Taiwan. Key to that is the beef noodle broths which you'll find here in a rich as well as a lighter version. There are, of course their signature bao buns too, and expect to find dishes on the menu that are exclusive to Battersea. For party planners, the private karaoke room is worth knowing about.

Bibi comes from chef Chet Sharma, previously at big name restaurants Moor Hall and L'Enclume and then Group Development Chef at JKS (Gymkhana). This time, he's in charge of his own kitchen at this Mayfair Indian restaurant. It takes its influences from across India "from roadside cafés from Punjab in the north, to Kerala in the south."

The Big Mamma Group's second opening in London saw them hit up Fitzrovia with a massively OTT slice of Mediterranean charm and flavour. It's extremely popular with a stunning looking room.

Evernight comes from Lynus Lim, a Singaporean chef who trained up under Tom Anglesea at the Laughing Heart. It's inspired by Japanese izakayas, using mostly produce local to the UK. Here you'll find a big emphasis on low intervention wine too.

The Dorchester's modern take on the classic British grill restaurant is headed up by chef Tom Booton, whose name is now above the door. He trained under Alyn Williams and is the grill's youngest-ever chef. Expect classic dishes with a modern twist from breakfast through to dinner and make sure to save space for the excellent desserts.
