Get 30% off your food bill at modern Japanese restaurant Kino

Paid for promotion

Newly opened in South Kensington, Kino is led by chef Pavel Baranovs, and he's created a menu that combines traditional Japanese techniques with locally sourced ingredients and a few subtle European influences. The restaurant takes its name from an ancient word for wood, and that's intended to reflect its values of simplicity, warmth and craftsmanship.

Seasonality is central to Kino's philosophy, and they choose ingredients at their peak for maximum flavour and quality. Ethical sourcing, fermentation and nose-to-tail cooking are also a big part of the menu, which blends Japanese tradition with a modern, responsible approach.

On the menu itself, you'll find dishes like Wagyu udon soup, Tapioca marshmallow with shio konbu, ocopa cream and furikake, and a wide selection of nigiri and sashimi. As for larger dishes, they include Imperial black cod glazed in sweet yuzu miso and Australian Wagyu sirloin with caramelised onion purée. And to finish, expect desserts like matcha tiramisu, yuzu cheesecake and seasonal handcrafted mochi.

Now Hot Dinners readers have a chance to try this great new Japanese restaurant with a special opening deal.

Kino is 96 Draycott Ave, London SW3 3AD. Follow them on Instagram @kino_london.
