Meatopia and Grub Street founder Joshua Ozersky dies in Chicago

meatopiajosh

We were very sad to hear of the untimely death of US food writer Josh Ozersky. Ozersky was the founding editor of New York Magazine's Grub Street Blog, one of the key inspirations of Hot Dinners and - as Eater puts it - "a trailblazer in the early digital food media scene".

Ozersky, who was just 47, was found dead in his Chicago hotel room on Monday. He was in the city to attend the prestigious James Beard awards of which he was a committee member. Ozersky was also responsible for founding Meatopia, an event which crossed the Atlantic to London with huge success in 2013 and is back for a third time this year.
